Hello Impalla Owners,

Pardon me but I am the FNG to the group. I drive a 2006 3LT Impala with the 3.9 engine. Great car but I have a question for group. I just started to notice an unusal sound in my steering when I start from a stop or turn at a slow rate of speed. There is no shimmy to steering while driving. The only thing that is different is a new set of Michelin skins. It could be a strut but I think it has more to do with something in steering. Anyone had any steering gear/rack/ or shaft failures??

Regards

I know after 6 months or so I had to top off the power steering, no probs like that since.

Only other thing I could think of is, are the new tires the same size? If they're a little bigger they might be rubbing the strut plate.
All you have to do then is run them down a bit, do some burnouts, should do the trick.(I'm kidding!!!!!)
