Now that I have purchased a winter beater, gotten the Impala ready for storage, found storage (outdoors, but economical) I think that i want to put a cover over the Impala while sitting. Not totally convinced that I need one on it, so thats why im posting this. If you do suggest I cover the Imp, any brand of cover you recommend, links would be sweeeeeet!! thanks ahead, nick

i am not sure about a car cover for outside storage ? have seen some that the wind will move it ,and will wear the paint down, in those areas.... others have said some will trap moisture, and promote rust.? for a daily driver a car port, is a big help.. all our corvettes are stored inside with heat ,and battery tender... we also have a good in-door car cover , for dust and heavy enough to protect from scratches / bikes, and shovel handles, etc... i did not always had this good a set up... i am a senior guy, and hope my experiences will help.. good luck... rkvette.

I just bought a cover from walmart last summer. Only use it when the car is clean and there isn't any wind in the forcast.

Doesn't do crap in the rain. Keeps the bird crap off so that's always a plus.

I have a cover for my 200sx, and keeps the car clean that's something good, but in heavy rain or cold weather the car gets some condensation on the paint and that's not good.

Depends on whether or not you're going to keep it inside or outside. I have a cover on my Impala but it's always in the garage when it has the cover on it and it's always clean before I put the cover on. Just remember that even a little dust or s**t on your car could really f**k up your paint when you put a cover on.

I was looking at a waterproof cover and planned on padding the areas that would rub. I am goin to be parking the car outside for the winter, would i be better off with just leaving it uncovered?

I'd put a good coat of wax on it and leave it uncovered, but that's just me.

I would say, wax the car and cover it with a waterproof cover, in that case the car will be protected.
