When stopped, and the car settles back to the resting position, and when reversing from the driveway with the wheel turned, and when you first hit the gas taking off from a stop, i get a 'CLUNK' from the front right of the vehicle.

Ive checked sway bar end links, ball joints, and cradle bolts. I suspect its the strut mounts. You guys got any other areas i should check before i go get new struts/mounts?

Amazing! I found the sticky - thanks for posting it tho!

I ran to O'Reillys (its closer than Autozone) for a can of the CRC for $2.99, less than 5 mins in the parking lot, turn the wheel lock to lock a few times.. clunk was gone before i left the parking lot!

Thanks again guys!

I had mine replaced under warranty when I had my 07 SS. But you'll be good to go keeping up with it the way you did since you probably no longer have warranty coverage.

Not that it matters, the new ones make noise and you have to lube them eventually.

Hmmm, maybe i don't need a new front strut. My car has made the same noise in the right front of the car.

Its like if i turn my wheel to the right it will make that clunk sound. It only happens when im at around 1 or 2 mph.Sometimes it wont do it at all and sometimes it does,odd...

Thats what mine was doing and this was a 5 minute fix - definately worth it! I might try some actual grease when this can runs out.

Yeah after clicking on the link and doing some reading,i am almost 100% sure this is the problem i have, and just to think i was gonna have both front struts replaced lol. Thanks to this forum looks like i will be saving myself some money Smile

First i am going to try the spray lube procedure. If this don't do the trick then i'll bite the bullit and have the whole ISS changed out.

I still wouldn't get the ISS replaced. I would take it out and see if you can get the GM Lube Kit and relube it the "right" way before paying for a new one.
