ok, so i dont really want to do too much to my impala when it comes to performance, due to it being my daily driver and being a rescue vehicle, meaning it needs to be reliable. however, i came up with a random idea, and wanted to know what everyone else thought..
so there is what they call a turbo whistle that you stick into your exhaust tip, and it is supposed to sound like a turbo. i was thinking, what if i somehow rigged up something like that in my intake near the filter so the sound actually came from under the hood.
lol, why not? it would just be for kicks and giggles.. i was thinking about coming up with something that would fit on my cone filter, maybe between the filter and the ram air tube i have running down in the fender well.
Anytime you can make a crap car sound like a Lambo, Saleen, or anything else is straight ballin'

Because fake turbo spooling sounds or fake blower whine is completely pointless. An intake done properly should give you a distinct sound. Hell when I cold start mine and someone is near my car they take a look because they aren't accustomed to the loud sucking noise.

There is no point to try to fake a performance sound... especially the sound of a turbo as you wont be able to do it since the BOV and turbo spool are completely unique to the motions of the engine and have separate sounds. You might be able to get the S/C wine but that wine is similar to a part failure wine but even then its not the same
My i ask why you would want to fake the sound over actually making the sound... I mean isn't that kinda a poser thing to do
I say add an intake and an exhaust and you will get a decent rumble... if you want loud then get some flow 40's and delete the resonator... other then that if you want sound do it the right way.... add the parts

yes, i have that sound too when the engine is cold, but once the engine warms up, it doesnt sound as nice. and being that i cant/dont want to put in a supercharger or turbo, i would like to do something else, because i just love the sound.

ok guys, i didnt make this post to have all of you poke fun of it. i am unable to add an actual turbo due to reliability, and because it is classified as an emergency vehicle. im not trying to make it seem like i have a turbo or anything by adding some whistler, i just like the sound of it, and since i cant have the real thing, i would like to do something else.
