Ok. I wanted to get rid of the car by the end off summer but its not going to happen (damn economy) so im just going to fix the car up until i can really get what i want.

Problems:

1- need 4 new brakes and rotors
---- found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors.....06.c0.m245 anyone know if these are any good?

2- need 2 front struts
---- recomentations welcomed

3- had a clogged cat so been on a test pipe for the past year and a half.
-- planning on getting a manaflow for the benefit of highflow cat and u bend delete as it seems zzp stopped making 3.4's
-- http://www.summitracing.com/pa.....mage=large

Also a question is have running a test pipe and a ubend delete a good thing as far as performance goes?

4- Gas mileage been bad to the point where i was getting 200 or less miles to a tank. After crazydayz and I fixed the LIM gaskets & added a 180 tstat and switched oil to synthetic gas mileage was bumped up to about 230 a tank with mixed city/ highway driving.
-- So i ordered my Overkill pcm with the intentions that itl help on the bad gas mileage with added power etc.....

5- looking at getting the gmpp rear sway bar
-- any recommended source?

6- need some delco plug wires
-Most likely gonna get them through Zspot.

Budget is around $500-$600

----------------------------------------------------

update 1: pcm arrived today. its raining out so installation is tomorow. will post results.

1. I wouldn't trust brakes and rotors for all four corners for $100, but thats just me.

2. If you don't plan on modding the suspension at all, just get some stock replacements. Check out rockauto.com or your local auto parts store.

3. https://www.zzperformance.com/.....;catid=110
I would contact them first and make sure they still have some.

4. It is very rare that added power = better mileage, but you let us know how that works out.

5. Not sure, check with Z and see if he can get that part by itself.

6. Should help with number 4.

yea. i dont kno about the brakes was just browsing around.

yea i know but i was reading a thread on here i forgot who it was that they said they went from like 280 to 450 miles to a tank or something like that + added power IIRC.

heres whats from Will's site

Code:
As such, we are pleased to offer a complete and extensive refinement to the factory coding in your 3400 vehicle. With an Overkill PCM, you will immediately notice the improvement in part throttle and cruise MPG, our extensive transmission revisions, the improved driveability of your vehicle, and when you hammer the gas you'll find the vehicle responds quicker and with more horsepower than ever before.

A Short-List of what our PCMs offer:
-Speed Limiters removed
-Improved MPG through fuel and spark retuning
-Increase of up to 20 horsepower through fuel and spark retuning
-Refined transmission controls for sportier shifting in all throttle ranges
-Skip shifts downshift into the lowest gear possible on highway
-Altered engine cooling fan controls for lower operating temperatures
-Smarter knock retard management for quicker recovery from burst knock
-Safer torque management and abuse modes
-Annoying DTCs disabled for loose gas cap, high flow catalytics, low temp thermostats

Z has the plug wires for $50 shipped so I may likely jump on those.

But ill get in contact with ZZP though as you recomended.

Have you replaced or checked Wheel bearings front and back? Alignment?
What type of plugs do you have? Could be a clogged up muffler also.

There are certain factors that will take a toll on your gas mileage that are not necessarily mechanical things you can replace. For instance, heavy stereo equipment and/or other cargo in trunk, transporting fat girls to and from McDonald's frequently, lead foot/aggressive driving habits, heavy 20" wheels, and I'm willing to bet money that since you installed that FWI, you lost some gas mileage as well.

I disagree kind sir. I have heavy ass box in the trunk and I had 20"s and was getting 28mpg with FWI, pcm tune, DP and catback.

Maybe so, but how many fat girls did you transport, on average, per day? That may prove to be the deciding factor here. Laughing

EDIT: not to mention, all your driving is done on the highway...

EDIT Jr: Sumdude, when you say 230 miles to a tank, do you literally mean you let the guage read E before you fill up, or do you usually fill up at around 1/4 tank or so?
