I haven't been to the Tail of the Dragon due to the fact that the Tennessee Highway Patrol is utterly ridiculous there. You have to be on your best behavior or you will be getting a ticket.

Since the last year and a half. TN cops have been all over writing tickets. NC isn't bothering or wasting their time. Problem is, most of the dragon is on the TN side, but there's a ton of other roads on the NC side you can hit that are pretty good.

If you go early AM or late evening, you won't see the cops either. Most times we saw a cop, they were just sitting around talking to bikers who would stop and keep them occupied for a bit or writing somebody a ticket.
