I am going to gather all I need to do it and am going to go with Acura TSX projectors and make custom shrouds. Hopefully it will go successful enough to make a write up on it. Now my question is does anyone know which company to buy from that has the aftermarket OEM headlights I can bake and pull apart?

I don't have any experience with aftermarket OEM style headlights, but I think this will be the biggest problem you have. The aftermarket assemblies are so poor in quality. I've seen a few in person and you can spot the difference immediately.

Good luck with the retrofit. I know I love mine.

I don't think anyone has successfully disassembled the 00-05 headlights. Confused

There are no Impala headlights that you can bake apart. Period. Might as well get the pre-made ones:

So you can't even bake the aftermarket OEM style headlights?

You mean the OEM-style replacements? I don't think so.

Yeah, that's what I mean. I just figured with them being of lesser quality that they wouldn't be chemically welded together.

I said successfully disassembled. Shards of plastic isn't successful in my eye.

OH YEAH!

Just kidding. The retrofit that he's trying to do will be hard to pull off without accessing the front of the housing. The Acura projectors require a bezel/trim ring to be installed around the projector for a truly finished look.

Please post what they say in response SatImpala. I am getting ready to do a HID retrofit with TSX or S2000 projectors. I was thinking about just cutting through the front of the head light along the very front of the light. But I am just waiting on a cracked headlight that I picked up for less than nothing just to test out my ideas and make sure I wont mess up a good set of lights.

mike690003 was able to cut the lens off of his 00-05 headlights. I believe he cut through the area where the two pieces are joined together. I attempted this when I ruined one of my headlights. It was pretty difficult to cut through and it burnt up two of my dremels and quite a few cutting discs. If you are really careful, you can cut it in a way that it won't be seen once it is pieced back together. It takes patience, that's for sure.
