I don't know what causes it, but sometimes the sound when I use the turn signals is gone. meaning that clicking sound. and later on in the drive, the sound is back. is this a fuse issue?

I think on the 06+ it comes through the radio... Not sure what would make it do that though.

Not sure on this one. Since I replaced my OEM radio, I don't have the click-clack anymore. I missed it, so I installed a relay to get it back, but if you're familiar with relays (and turn signals in older vehicles), that click-clack was really loud so I took it out.

Can't imagine what is making yours come and go Confused

Time to check your blinker fluid level.....

Seriously, when the sound stops does the blinker stop flashing?

when this happens, the lights flash, just no sound inside. it's weird for me, it just happens randomly to not make a sound anymore, and a few minutes later it makes the sound.

I found out on my 06 ss that when the seatbelt dinger is dinging the turn signal sound goes away. It must be something with the body control computer that it can only make one sound at a time. Way to go GM for making a simple electrical system (turn signals) complex by putting a computer on it. I also noticed that if you just barely tap the turn signal switch it will always blink 3 times.

Amber08 is having this same issue...but I think she said her's never makes the sound anymore.

Regarding the "blink 3 times"...i noticed that during the test drive and have loved it ever since. Very Happy

why in the world, if you can make a relay quiet, would you digitize the sound and send it through the speakers? Just because the world is used to the turn signal relays clicking? Why not just have a regular relay that clicks? Oye... I suppose, this is the digital age after all...

For the same reason the building I work in has "white noise generators" that sound exactly like an HVAC system blowing air? Seriously - the HVAC is silent; the background "whooshing" noise we hear is the white noise generators. We can tell because when they drop offline (yeah), the silence is eerie but the vents still blow air.

But yeah I don't know why you wouldn't just leave the sound in the relay.

I gotta say that after having the digital sound, then nothing, then a relay...I really miss the digital version. The relay clicking is DAMN loud!

I try to NEVER let the car tell me when the signal has been on too long....so I didn't realize that the GMOS would still pass that through. I figured that it would, b/c it's just like any other chime/warning, but still....I'm too young to be making the "eventual left."
