Very Nice... what was the part number on that filter? I think mine is slightly bigger but has a smaller opening to put the tube in cause it took me a good hour to get the pipe on the filter. Did you go the PCM tray route?

One bad thing I noticed about mine when I put the PCM tray in is that any which way I turned that damn filter, I couldnt get it out of there.. which means I prob have to take the filter off if I ever need it out for any reason... which means I got to put it back on.. ugh.. All I did was unscrew mine and moved it around while I put the PCM tray in... I thought my PCM was ok sitting there with 2 bungee cords around it, but boy, when I put that PCM tray in, that bitch aint movin!

yeah, I work cheap Laughing Seriousy tho, that was a lot of fun, and having my intake as a template made it that much faster.

I really need to clean my filter Shocked

I'm glad you like it! I hadn't ever heard what these sound like from outside the car. It's even meaner than inside! mparramore and I were both Shocked when you first took off on your test drive!

We'll have to get a PCM Tray in there later. Damn I love the sound of these intakes Twisted Evil Burnout

Yeah, I would have been a HELL of alot better with that, the 3" opening is really hard to get the pipe into and mine is 6" tall, so much so I have to take the filter off to get it out of the car.. And mine had a diameter of 6", yours is 4.625". I just have to big of a filter I think, i would really like to take it out easily and such... maybe if I ever need to, I'll change the filter. But for now, its fine.

Oh, and as for the other options for the PCM, I thought I could find a better option too, but after I bought the PCM tray, i realized for how easy that was, its the best possible solution.

mine isn't even that easy to take out. it clears without removing anything, but it is a PITA.. wouldn't want to go any bigger

edit: we have matching cars Wink

What sounds even better than the growl of the engine, is sharply lifting off the throttle just ahead of a shift point. you get this BIG whoosh out of the intake. Twisted Evil That's assuming you ran up to that point quickly with a big growl to start (not quite WOT)

I have been thinking of doing this mod practically since I bought my car just over a year ago, but i haven't because I am worried that it would void my extended warranty. Am I right in assuming that? or am i just being a chicken and should just go ahead with doing it?

Just chicken. haha j/k dude. You should be okay. Just putting something on usually isn't going to automatically void your warranty. If something needs fixing under warranty and they say it's directly related to the intake then they can refuse the warranty work. But just putting it on isn't going to automatically do it it would have to cause the problem that you're taking it in to be fixed for. I guess it can get a little tricky with intakes they could say it sucked somethin in or somethin I guess. Other people here have gotten warranty work done with intakes on. All depends on what you're taking it in to get repaired.
