just saw commercial on television... Maaco (500 locations across the US alone), is holding a huge discount on paint jobs right now..

regular: $550.00.
now: $225.00!

I'm thinking I'm going to take them up on this offer as SOON as I can. Smile The car's getting painted BLACK! Twisted Evil

Had my ex's car painted there.

Rust repair as well as the third tier paint job.

I'd say they did a fine job. I guess it all depends on who is behind the gun.

Good luck with it, but I don't think it will work out in the long run. I rather spend the extra money and know for sure that it will be done right.

Also, a $225 paintjob is a little optimistic there. Must be some extra prices not included (like that is just the base charge), because I highly doubt you would pay the same to paint both a Civic and an Excursion.

AG & Screwball are right...

With Maaco, you REALLY get what you pay for... you can get a decent paint job, but not at the special price... you need to pay for good quality prep and paint... and then they do a good job...

The $225 price likely includes little or no prep... which is the key to a good paint job

Without prep... it'll flake and peel... very quickly

My pops took them up on one of their speicals a couple years ago, and I must say, it was one of the worst paint jobs ever. It didnt look like they applied any clearcoat after paint. But as everyone already said, you get what you pay for.

My guess is that it's the typical slow season sale that might generate a bunch of quotes but not much action. Plus, I'm more than sure no one ever gets out of there for 225 bucks. They'll try to upsell you like there's no tomorrow.

Their base jobs really do suck. If you get it, don't take it out in the rain or the paint may wash off!

They're always running these "specials" Rolling Eyes at least i know Earl Scheib does, just gotta find the right newspaper and save $300 Laughing If you remove most of your trim and do the masking and some sanding yourself, and tip them $50 or so, you might get a decent paint job. Smile

225? wow I paid $2300 for mine
I could have saved $2075?

nah pimpn but for real, I dont know anything about Maco but as multiple people have said, "you get what you pay for", a little to cheap in my book

and in most cases $225 is the basic, basic paint setup on a 2door honda CRX, they may laugh when you ask them to do a 4 door W-body sedan

You do get what you pay for, and if it was me I would repaint the car the stock color if the paint had problems with it.

If you get that black paint from maaco for like $300 Its going to look like crap after 1 or 2 of our winters guaranteed.

Considering a "Good" paint job can run around $2000-$5000, and thats for quality.

You ever see those cars with the paint rolling off the bumper like a tortilla rolls up. Yeah, like everyone says, you get what you pay for. I guess I would say go for it if you are just trying to sell it. Then you can screw over the buyer Laughing
Thats not very nice though.

I wouldn't buy a repainted car, and one that has been repainted a different color.
