does anyone know how much wheel horsepower would be added to my car with my current mods if i put an intercooler on? (see sig) It will still be a descent gain even with the 3.4 pulley right?

thanks
glen

It wont increase horsepower, but lower kr, and may allow you to increase timing and create some horsepower, probably around 5-20 depending on the KR, money would be better spent getting other things and working down to a 3.25 then inter cooling and proceeding to a 3".

Do they make a watercooled intercooler that sits below the blower? I have this on my Marauder and would recommend this setup. Otherwise leave a conventional air to air intercooler for last.

Yes it will. Cooler air is more dense, which means more fuel needs to be mixed with it which leads to more power.

What he means is that its not a power adder in itself. But it opens up the margins to allow you to add more fuel and more aggressive timing which add power.

Considering how hot the air coming from the blower is initially, the main thing it does is cut back KR.

An intercooler helps create power big time. But not by itself. The point is to lower KR when spinning the s/c with a smaller pulley. With basic supporting mods and tuning, an intercooler will let you drop to a 3.2 pulley or maybe a 3.1. It depends on what your engine likes. Potential horsepower gains maybe 5-40 depending on what else you do at the same time. Quarter mile gains maybe a full second if you do headers and a limited slip and real basics.

What mods you got now?

scan the car and check if you have kr, but first, before you do anything get some headers and a xp cam. Then move to a 3.25" pulley and get the inter cooler installed with it. Or if you don't want to move to 3.25" get an intercooler and advance the timing a whole lot, but it won't be equivalent to moving to a 3.25.

The XP cam and headers will net around 40hp, which I think is best to get done first.

i think i will be going with the s1x cam from intense. I have heard nothing but good things about it. I also plan on dropping to the 3.2 mps if i do the intercooler.

Yeah I don't know too much about cam specs and which ones are best, but everyone on clubgp is raving about the xp hot cam, so maybe check that out on zzp website.

To feel what the cam does best you will have to open the exhaust path (headers) or ported exhaust manifolds minimum.

Before the ZZP stage 2 intercooler, I had rockers, headers, exhaust, etc. and a 3.3 pulley with a max KR of 3*

After the intercooler I had a 3.0 pulley with 0* KR with no other changes. And the car felt insane.

I am now tuning the fueling with upgraded injectors.

Worth every penny and more.
