Hey all! I just spent an hour or so cleaning up the engine bay on my 04 Impala and had to snap some pics so others could appreciate it. This car has endured 2 Eastern Canadian winters and 86,000 kms so I was surprised to see it come out as well as it has. All i used was some citrus cleaner and some spray on engine dresser... and some old fashioned elbow grease hehe

I used a can of citrus engine cleaner from Canadian Tire(live in Canada eh) and used various sponges to get into problem areas. After 15 mins I sprayed it all off and let it dry. Then I used a full can of engine dress spray (3 coats) and voila. The engine spray seems almost like a clearcoat or varnish kind of spray ;thats what really makes it pop. And before anyone asks, yes I was very careful about my overspray because I know it can really mess up the finsih on the exterior paint Razz

Hey that is one fine job you've done there, my engine bay is pretty much the same, my only question is, does those layers of dressing attract dirt and lets it stick?

If not im going to be popping by CT tommorow 8)

Nope, just cleaning and some spray on clear stuff.... and so far no issues with dirt sticking or whatnot. Thanks all for the positive feedback!

There's a product called "Pig spit" that is used to detail engines. Check it out.
